King County Court - Maleng Regional Justice Center
The King County Court - Maleng Regional Justice Center is often called the "RJC" by lawyers and those who are there often. It used to be called the "Regional Justice Center", and was renamed the "Maleng Regional Justice Center" to honor the passing of Norm Maleng, a longtime prosecutor elected prosecutor for King County.
The court facility contains both King County District, and King County Superior courts, as well as the county's southernmost jail facility (the other being in Seattle). The Superior Court hears civil, as well as felony criminal cases, and the District Court hears civil matters as well as misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor cases. The King County Prosecutor's have offices in this building as well as the courthouse in Seattle.
There is a two level free parking lot adjacent to the building, but it often fills up quickly. The Showare Center and the Metro Park N' Ride lots are located nearby and can be used by those with business at the courthouse.
